the charlotte public house.

Try as i do, and ive been trying since the Royal chalotte got a revamp(1st person to have a pint in there) and i still can`t fathom out what the owners are tying to do, went in there this afternoon Pete (owner) had his usual long face and bleak outlook on life, empty (i wonder why) only time its busy is when Jackie and Tony are working, as for his wife (local council member) never seen her pull a pint! have they brought this as an investment or a buisness, i don`t think thay care, no wonder hundreds of pubs are closing every year.. Cheers wetherspoons here i come..

Peter of the Charlotte said he had no idea that the cameras was being installed, and his wifes a Crayford councillor!!

Our beloved landmark, beacon, lighthouse, name it what you will has been extinguished for the last couple of weeks so as a gesture of goodwill i have sent Bexley council a brand new 40watt energy saving bulb so that once again the hands of time will once again shine so bravely over the dark streets of our Town...

Christmas comes to Crayford

To the high street for a spot of shopping, and as the last rays of sunlight fad slowly we are greeted by the sight of Bexley councils, Crayford, contribution to global warming! the Christmas lights!! must say they are of a slightly better quality than last year but why do they stop at the junction with the bear and ragged staff? is that part going up to St Paulinus not in Crayford? and whats happened to the Tree?? when they revamped Waterside an area was set aside (with electrical connection) for a Christmas tree, BAH HUMBUG...

anyway ,to the One Bell for a couple of beers after its recent refurbishment, a footballer from Hull has brought it and installed his Pater as manager? what a pleasant surprise was in store for me, £2.65 a pint of lovely bitter congenial atmosphere and the smell of fresh paint, had to walk past 4 other Crayford pubs , and up a 1in10 hill to get there but Worth the effort. 6 pubs in Crayford and with an ever diminishing clientele hope this gives the other a kick up the backside The royal Charlotte was the last pub to get a makeover and while it was an initial success due, i think to mismanagement and high prices it has gone down hill and i don't think nothing could bring it back shame because its my blinking local!!!
what a let down, composed a nice blog about my recent visit to the One Bell and nothing came out!
